ProHEALTH Dental was founded to establish state-of-the-art multi-specialty dental practices in partnership with health care systems and medical groups to address the important relationship between oral health and overall health.

Our mission is to break down the historical barrier between medicine and dentistry. We pride ourselves on educating the community that good oral health can improve total wellness, save significant healthcare expenditures, and help people of all ages to live healthier and more productive lives.

CURRENT PARTNERSHIPS AND AFFILIATIONS

Founded over 20 years ago, ProHEALTH Care Associates, LLP has developed into one of the largest healthcare systems in the metropolitan area with over 1000 healthcare professionals serving over 1.3 million patients at 300+ locations throughout Long Island, Queens and Brooklyn.

The Mount Sinai Health System’s vision is to produce the safest care, the highest quality, the highest satisfaction, the best access and the best value of any health system in the nation. The System includes approximately 7,100 primary and specialty care physicians; 10 joint-venture ambulatory surgery centers; more than 140 ambulatory practices throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, Long Island, and Florida; and 31 affiliated community health centers. Our partnership with Mount Sinai includes the training of dental residents at some of our Queens and Brooklyn offices, as well as coordinating medical and dental care with Mount Sinai Medical Associates primary care physicians and pediatricians.

Westmed Medical Group is an award-winning multispecialty medical practice, staffed by a team of 500 top physicians and advanced care providers and 1,500 clinical employees, throughout our thirteen office locations in Westchester County, NY, and Fairfield County, CT.

ProHEALTH Dental has been selected by Harvard as the prototype for community-based coordination of medicine and dentistry. Together with ProHEALTH Care Associates and Mount Sinai, Harvard will be conducting a study to prove the efficacy of our coordinated care model as a vehicle to improve overall health and reduce healthcare costs.

Dentists

Diagnose and treat problems with patients’ teeth, gums, and related parts of the mouth. Provide advice and instruction on taking care of the teeth and gums and on diet choices that affect oral health.

Dental Hygienist

Promote good oral health by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Dental Assistant

Support the dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice regulations. The Dental Assistant is also responsible for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.

Receptionist

Work as the ‘front line’ of dental practices, as the first point of contact over the phone or on arrival. Booking patients, greeting visitors, sorting out appointments and undertaking other non-clinical tasks of an administrative nature.
